My Mother always said, Two heads are better than one. It's true when we work together great thinks can be accomplished. Central Garage is celebrating twenty years in business but collectively we have 115 years of experience represented in our staff of technicians and service writers. Each employee brings a unique set of skills to our business that allows our team to give customers exceptional service. Mike and I are thankful for our exceptional staff and great customers!
Recently I was reading the history of the March of Dimes another very successful team approach to problem solving. Eddie Cantor came up with that name and until then fund-raising for polio was promoted by Birthday Balls held for President Roosevelt each January. Mr. Cantor said, The March of Dimes will enable all persons, even the children, to show our President that they are with him in this battle against this disease. Nearly everyone can send in a dime, or several dimes. However, it takes only ten dimes to make a dollar and if a million people send only one dime, the total will be $100,000. A total of 2,680,000 dimes or $268,000 was collected the first year a remarkable sum during the Great Depression!
In the spirit of the March of Dimes (still going strong but now fighting birth defects) we are asking our customers to consider rounding up their total invoice at Central Garage to the next dollar amount. In this way each persons contribution will be less than $1. But all of us working together will make a difference. Central Garage will match each contribution and we project the years total to charity will be about $ 1630.00. In the next few months we will be considering the charities to benefit from our TEAM CENTRAL efforts. Each of us knows someone personally impacted by Cancer or other tragic diseases. If you have a favorite charity you would like us to consider for regular support e-mail the information to [email protected] We will spotlight a different charity each month and report the TEAM CENTRAL results in our monthly e-newsletter.
