Central Garage – Our History
Central Garage is proudly owned and operated by Mike and Kathy Wallace. Mike and I started working together in May 1995. It was simple then, Mike fixed cars and I kept the books. Each of us talked to customers and did everything that needed doing around our Reynoldsburg, Ohio auto repair shop. That included extending our business efforts into Pataskala and Picekrington as well.
There were two other businesses also housed in the same building. As Central Garage grew, we occupied more of the building, until finally we took over all of it. We opened our doors for business with Mike’s hand-held tools, and a list of friends and family who trusted us to work on their vehicles.
Our goal to offer “Old-Fashioned, Personal Service” has served us well. Our Reynoldsburg Ohio neighbors responded to our efforts of exceptional service and have been very loyal. Over the years we’ve added equipment and training to keep up to date with technology. We’ve watched a new generation of drivers grow up and use our services.
We chose the name Central Garage Co. Inc. because Mike’s Grandfather, Gerald Wallace, had a business by that name in the 1920’s in Clearfield Pa. That business sold and serviced Ford Model T’s and Fordson Tractors. Pictures of that business hang in our waiting room.

Pataskala, Pickerington, and Reynoldsburg Communities
The Pataskala, Pickerington, and Reynoldsburg communities are very important to us. We enjoy being a vital role in representing responsible business practices, and donations within them.
Our first annual Breast Cancer fundraiser, Central Garage Links to Pink, was held in April 2011. Central Garage pledged to donate $5.00 for every car serviced for the month to SASS-Screening and Survivor Support. SASS is funded by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Columbus, with support from the non-profit Public Health Partnership of Licking County, Inc.
Through our annual Breast Cancer fundraisers, Central Garage Links to Pink, we have raised more than $3000.00 toward helping local women in need get mammograms at no cost. Customers can be a part of this great cause just by having their car serviced. During the month of February we donate $5.00 for every car serviced to SASS-Screening and Survivor Support. SASS is funded by the non-profit Public Health Partnership of Licking County, Inc. Customers can also purchase $25.00 pink certificates that can be redeemed on furture car needs. 100% of all pink certificate sales go to benefit SASS.
Our community is only as strong as our local schools! We support the Licking Heights and SW Licking Schools athletics, music, and drama departments. We have been privileged to have several young people job shadow our technicians.
A free Ladies Car Clinic is presented every October. Kathy will take this same class to ladies clubs and church groups as well.
